VIVA Apartments Overview

First Impressions

Walking into VIVA Apartments on Pomisgasse, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. It’s one of those places that hits the sweet spot between professional service and feeling like you’re staying somewhere genuinely welcoming. The building itself has that classic Austrian charm without being stuffy, and honestly, the staff seem like they actually want you to have a great time in Graz. You know what really caught my attention? The fact that this four-star property manages to feel both polished and relaxed at the same time.

Location & Getting Around

The location is honestly fantastic — I mean, there’s a reason recent guests rated it 9.1. You’re right in the heart of things but on a quieter street, which is exactly what you want when exploring Graz. The old town is basically on your doorstep, and you can easily walk to the main sights without dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. What’s really nice is having that free parking on-site — anyone who’s tried to park in European city centers knows this is gold. Plus, couples seem to particularly love this area (they rated it 8.8), probably because it’s got that perfect mix of romantic old-world streets and modern conveniences.

The Apartment Experience

These aren’t just hotel rooms with a fancy name — they’re actual apartments that give you space to breathe. Each apartment comes with a proper kitchen, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re staying more than a night or two. You can grab fresh ingredients from the local markets and actually cook something, or just have a place to store those Austrian pastries you’ll inevitably buy too many of. The room layouts are thoughtfully designed, with enough space that you’re not tripping over your luggage every time you move around.

What Makes It Special

The 9.6 rating isn’t just a number — you feel it in the details. The apartments are impeccably maintained, and there’s this attention to comfort that goes beyond just clean sheets and fresh towels. The building has character but with all the modern touches you actually need, like reliable Wi-Fi and good water pressure (trust me, these things matter after a long day of sightseeing). The staff know Graz well and can point you toward the spots locals actually go to, not just the obvious tourist traps.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it gives you the independence of having your own space while still providing the service you expect from a quality hotel. You’re not just staying in Graz — you’re actually living there for a few days, which makes the whole experience feel more authentic. The combination of that prime location, the apartment-style setup, and the consistently high standards creates something pretty special. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or just want a comfortable base for exploring Austria’s cultural capital, VIVA Apartments delivers exactly what it promises.

Best hotels in Graz blend rooftop saunas, Styrian wine bars, and views of red-tiled rooftops.

Reviews of VIVA Apartments

  • Mihai from Romania (10/10)

    Location, facilities, comfort, clean

  • Olive22 from Croatia (10/10)

Exceptionally nice, clean and well equipped apartment, walking distance from the city centre. The apartment is brand new and nicely done with great attention to detail. They even thought of kids by placing board games and even a tablet at the apartment. Bath robes and a variety of toiletries were a really nice touch.
I liked that the free parking was included and the fact that we were provided with a door code so there was no need to wait for anyone to show up with keys. Overall a really pleasant experience.

  • Luiza from Romania (10/10)

  • Bakir from Bosnia and Herzegovina (10/10)

One of the best apartments I have stayed in. Peaceful neighbourhood, perfect free parking right to the entrance. Everything is new, well-equipped and impeccably clean. Comfortable beds and a great spacious balcony.

  • Roy from Indonesia (8/10)

its a very conveinient place, very clean and nice and compatible room for 3 .. me and my family were enjoying so much staying here and would recommend as best place to stay for travelers

  • Alweyn from Indonesia (10/10)

Really spacious and looks like a 5 star hotel

  • Stephane from France (9/10)

First to answer the last question: there is no key but a code which is very useful. The code was transmitted by message before we arrived.
The location is not that far from the old city: about 30 minutes maximum by walking. It is close to the exhibition center (Messe) and close to the Raiffeisen Sportpark . There are a few restaurants in the area (we recommend Best Food Grill 5, very good Kebab!) and Grocery stores as well. As the kitchen is very well equipped, it is perfect if you do not want to always eat outside. We ate and had breakfast on the balcony (garden table and chairs for 4 people)
A parking slot was available directly at the building.
Otherwise, Graz was a very good surprise, not to say a "coup de coeur", much more beautiful than we expected… the nice weather also contributed…
