Kaiserreich I – Styrian Hideaway Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Kaiserreich I – Styrian Hideaway, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked away in the Geidorf district, but honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and that authenticity really comes through. The building itself has character, sitting quietly on Heinrichstraße while still being incredibly well-connected to everything you’d want to see in Graz. You know what struck me most? How the staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure guests felt at home rather than just processed through.
Location & Neighborhood
Geidorf is one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists often miss — which means you’re getting the real Graz experience without the crowds. The area has this lovely residential feel with tree-lined streets, yet you’re still close enough to walk to the historic center when you want that postcard-perfect Austria experience. I mean, there’s a reason couples rate this location so highly (9.6 out of 10, actually). The tram connections are solid, and you’ve got cafes and small shops within easy walking distance. Plus, having on-site parking in this part of the city? That’s honestly a game-changer if you’re driving.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in felt more like a well-appointed city retreat than your typical hotel space. Everything was thoughtfully arranged — not fancy, but genuinely comfortable with attention to details that matter. The windows let in plenty of natural light, and you can tell they’ve put effort into making the space feel welcoming rather than sterile. Storage was adequate (always a concern in European hotels), and the bed was properly comfortable. What I appreciated most was how quiet it stayed at night, despite being in the city — good windows and the peaceful neighborhood really make a difference.
Practical Comforts
This is where Kaiserreich I really shows its strengths — it’s the little things that add up. The Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the property, which isn’t always a given. Housekeeping was consistent and unobtrusive, and they clearly understand that business travelers and couples want different things from their stay. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, and the staff had genuinely helpful suggestions about the area. You’re not getting a full-service hotel experience here, but what they do offer works seamlessly.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.7 rating isn’t an accident — this place succeeds because it knows exactly what it is and delivers on those promises consistently. Couples especially seem to appreciate the peaceful location combined with easy city access, and I can see why. It’s intimate without being cramped, well-located without being touristy, and comfortable without unnecessary frills. For the price point and the genuine warmth of the experience, Kaiserreich I offers something that’s getting harder to find: a place that feels like a discovery rather than just another booking.
Hotel in Graz reservations climb before university graduations when cafés brim with cap-and-gown celebrations.

It was the most perfect stay one could ever dream of!
The location of the apartment is great – the area is clean, safe and quiet, the bus stop is right in front of the building entrance. On the opposite side of the street there is a nice bakery to have a breakfast or buy some fresh-baked bread.
The views from the balcony (both from the apartment's balcony and the building's corridor) are picturesque.
The apartment is stylish and very clean. The rooms are big enough for 3 people and as there were only 2 of us (me and my sister), we felt extremely comfortable in the apartment.
Every small detail is thought of and made as great as it could be (have you seen the decorations in the living room?).
The mattresses are very comfortable, we had a great sleep. The Internet connection is stable and has a nice speed.
The bathroom is spacious, the shower cabin is wide.
The kitchen is very well equipped – there are pots, pans, baking sheets for the oven, a microwave, coffee machine (with capsules provided), electric kettle (tea selection provided). Also, there is a dishwasher and a washing machine.
The most amazing part of the stay are the hosts. We had a welcome bottle of wine at the apartment and even chocolates! They were always available when we had questions and gave us really useful recommendations about the places to visit in the town.
Thank you for making our stay so comfortable and wonderful! We'll definitely visit again when in Graz.Bakir from Bosnia and Herzegovina (10/10)
Coming for the second time in less than two months says it all – a perfect apartment for two people.

An excellent apartment for a couple. The location is great, a nice walk or a couple of bus stops to the centre. Everything is impeccably clean, and it can be seen that the owners have made an effort to make your stay pleasant with many little details throughout the apartment. It is spacious enough for two people. It is very well-equipped, pleasantly warm during cold days, with a spacious balcony facing back of the building, so it is not noisy at all. The owners were very helpful with giving all the details for the check-in (which went quickly) and the suggestions for enjoying our time in Graz. Having a garage spot is a huge plus. As we plan to come back to Graz in the future, this would definitely be our first choice.

The hosts were amazing! Starting from the very clear and good instructions on how to get in, to helpful ideas on where to eat breakfast, in which streets to walk, what to see in and around the city. They were really doing their best to make our stay wonderful.
The apartment is very nice and quiet, with a big terrace and nice view to the hill with a lot of trees. It is very well equipped.
The city center is about 2 km away, and one can easily walk there along a very nice street with Botanical Garden on the way.Nini from Georgia (10/10)
The appartment is super clean and comfortable, with beautiful balcony over the forest. The hosts were very helpful, answering all our questions.they gave us detailed and easy to understand instructions on opening/closing the door, garage etc.
We very much enjoyed our stay, highly recommended!Anna from Sweden (10/10)
Fully equiped even for a longer stay. Nice and quite balcony. Easy to reach both towncenter and a nice park for hiking, biking och just relaxing in the shadow.

Calm, and friendly neighborhood, walking distance to the old town. 25 minutes drive to the closest mountain with cable car and nice hikes. Very good bakery across the street.
